Choco Cheese Banana Bread

Choco Cheese Banana Bread

I love Choco Cheese Banana Bread, I used to eat it when I was still staying in Jakarta. I really love sweet bread, especially with lots and lots of chocolate in it. I’m normally not the type of the person who likes to bake a bread, basically I didn’t have that much of confident in me that I can bake a bread successfully. Well… I believe that this might be the same mind-set that all of us who are amateur or beginner in cooking might be thinking :)

So… why would bother to bake the bread if we can just buy it? … well… firstly, I can put lots and lots of chocolate inside the bread… (humm… yummy :p … ) and secondly, finding the sweet bread in India is like finding the needle in the bunch of straw. Indian are not so customised in term of fooding. All the foods beside Indian food are very typical… Mexican, Thailand and Italian… Eventho’ chinese food is very popular in India, the taste has been customized with the Indian taste.

About three years ago, when me and my husband went for a trip to Kalimpong (it’s a small town on the hill outside Kolkata), I was very surprised when I found chocolate Danish bread in one of the bakery shop. It was a very small shop which includes the coffee shop, I didn’t even think that they bake the bread everyday.

I have used the recipe below for making the sweat bread, I believe that there is still a lot of room for improvement considering that this is my first trial :) , I’m very open for all kind of suggestion :)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pcs Banana (Any type of banana will do)
  • Choco rice (optional: Baking chocolate)

  • 20 gr Salt
  • 40 gr Milk Powder
  • 300 gr Milk (liquid)
  • 100 gr Cold Water
  • 100 gr egg yolk (About 4 eggs)

How to make:

  • Mix all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  • Add milk, water and egg yolk and keep mixing in medium speed
  • Allow the dough to rest in about 15 - 20 minutes until it double in size
  • Make small balls from the dough each about 50 grams
  • Make small holes in each of the balls and add slices of banana and choco rice as the filling, and close the fillings
  • Keep it rest again for about 45 minutes
