Macaroni Chips

Macaroni Chips

I got this recipe from the internet and it really gave me the idea to try this recipe. Me and my hubby really like to eat chips, whenever we sat to watch TV or movies at home, it just didn’t feel good if we don’t chew anything crispy :) , I think you might know what I meant :)

I really want to give you the link where I found this recipe, but I just couldn’t find it again. I have added some spices with this recipe to suit our taste.

Ingredient:

  • 200 gram dried macaroni
  • 3 tbs flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  • a pinch of food seasoning (optional)
  • Oil to fry

How to make:

  • Boil the macaroni - make sure that it doesn’t overdone, drain the macaroni and keep it aside
  • Mix the flour, salt, red chilly powder and food seasoning
  • Add the mixture of the flour with the macaroni and mix well
  • Heat the oil and fry the macaroni

Give a sprinkle of salt and red chilly powder, this will give a good look on the macaroni and also add the salty taste when this macaroni reach the tongue :)

    Hi Lea,

The purpose of putting Chilli powder is to give the hot and spicy taste, I don’t know if there is any subtitute for this, but you can add black or white pepper into it to give the hot and spicy taste.

Please also note that chilli powder can also be made at home. Dry red chillies or red peppers under the sun, after they are completely dry and crisp. Toast the chillies on the pan with medium heat for 3-4 minutes. When the chillies almost cold, put in the blender until they become powders.

    Have a good try :)

    Hi,
Is it possible to fry the macaroni without boiling it first? I remember when I was a child, I ate something very similar to this, only the size of macaroni is smaller, the same size as the raw macaroni. That’s why I think the macaroni was fried without boiling it first, which will expand the size.

    Hi Vera,

I have tried to fry the macaroni without boiling it first, and the result was not good, it become hard and difficult to eat. But I have tried to bake the macaroni in the microwave and the result was not bad at all. Both of the results from baking in the microwave and frying after boiling it have different taste but both are good, if baking the macaroni in the microwave, sprinkle the salt and chilli powder when it was still warm :)
