This could be the easiest recipe so far :) … it is easy, it is fast, it is healthy and most of all…. it is yummy!!!!  If you’re on diet, watch out, because you cannot stop eating after the first two pieces… well… at least until all the fritters are finished … ha..ha.. :D

If you are vegetarian, this could be the snack dish which you have been looking for. Paneer or cottage cheese is full with protein and it has been a part of Indian vegetarian diet for centuries.

In fact, paneer fritter or paneer pakoras can be served in kitty parties where finger foods are mostly served. You can cut the paneer/cheese and the vegetables according to your taste.

At last, your kids will love this dish so much…. and what more, you can make them eat vegetables if they don’t like to eat them,… you can add or replace any of the ingredients with any vegetables you like, such as broccoli , etc…

Paneer / Cottage Cheese

 Ingredients:

  •  200 grams paneer or cottage cheese – cut into small cubes about 2-3 cms
  • 2 pcs tomato – remove the seeds – cut into square about 2-3 cms
  • 1 pcs capsicum – remove the seeds – cut into square about 2-3 cms
  • About 4 tbs Gram flour or besan flour
  • Half cup of water
  • Salt to taste – in this recipe I’m using about half tsp
  • A sprinkle of chili powder
  • 1 clove of garlic – make a paste
  • 1 cm ginger – make a paste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Toothpicks

How to make:

  •  Take one toothpick – insert one pc capsicum then 1 cube paneer and 1 pc tomato, do this to the rest of the paneer, tomato and capsicum pieces
  • Mix the flour, salt, garlic paste, ginger paste with the water. Add the water little by little. If the mixture is too thick, add little more water.
  • Heat the oil
  • Take the paneer which are already arranged with the toothpicks, dip it in the Besan mixture (above) one by one and deep fry until golden brown
  • Best served while it is hot with tomato sauce or chili sauce
